Current as of: July 2026

At Internet Fixers, we are dedicated to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy details how we handle, store, and secure your personal details in compliance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. Personal Information We Collect

To schedule, coordinate, and execute our technical support services, we collect:

  • Identity & Contact Data: Your full name, telephone number, and email address.
  • Location Data: Your residential address for on-site tech service delivery.
  • Technical Service Data: Details regarding your internet plan, router models, home layout, connected devices, and the nature of your technical issues.

2. How Personal Information is Collected

We collect personal data directly from you when you:

  • Complete an online appointment request through our booking portal (Cal.com).
  • Interact with us via a messaging app, SMS, phone calls, or emails.
  • Provide configuration information or temporary access details to our technician on-site. Note: We do not permanently store or record your private Wi-Fi passwords, device passwords, or network credentials on our administrative systems.

3. Purpose of Collection and Use

We collect and use your data strictly to:

  • Process, manage, and navigate to your booking location.
  • Diagnose network infrastructure issues and configure your hardware.
  • Issue service invoices, process payments, and provide support follow-ups.
  • We do not engage in third-party list sharing, and we will never sell or rent your information to external marketing brokers.

4. Overseas Data Disclosure & Third-Party Tools

To run an efficient, secure digital business, we use specialised third-party software applications. Some of these cloud platforms host data on encrypted secure servers located overseas (predominantly in the United States):

  • Administration: Email, calendar, and document management are handled via Google Workspace.
  • Scheduling: Booking details are handled via Cal.com.
  • Payment Processing: Financial transactions are handled securely by Square. We do not see or store your credit/debit card details.
  • By submitting your personal details, you acknowledge and consent to this cross-border data interaction necessary to process your administrative request.

5. Data Security & Data Breach Protocols

  • Data Retention: We only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for, including satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. When your personal data is no longer required for your ongoing technical support, we will take reasonable steps to securely destroy or permanently de-identify it.
  • Storage Protection: Your information is stored digitally using password & MFA protected, encrypted cloud services.
  • Data Breaches: While we maintain strict technical boundaries, in the highly unlikely event of an unauthorized data exposure or malicious breach that risks serious harm to you, we will immediately initiate assessment procedures aligned with the Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) scheme, notify you directly via email or phone, and provide actionable steps to safeguard your accounts.

6. Your Rights: Access, Correction, and Opt-Out

  • Access & Correction: You have the absolute right to request access to the information we hold about you, or to request swift updates to incorrect details. We process these administrative adjustments free of charge within 14 business days.
  • Direct Marketing Opt-Out: If we send you operational business updates or safety alerts, you can permanently opt out at any time by replying with "STOP" or clicking the unsubscribe link.

7. Complaints Procedure

If you believe we have breached your privacy rights under Australian law, please contact us at admin@internetfixers.com.au. We will review and respond to your privacy complaint within 30 days.
